Alpha Xi Delta’s Philanthropic Focus:

The Kindly Hearts Initiative

The Kindly Hearts Initiative serves as the umbrella to our national philanthropic focus of supporting children and teens experiencing foster care or homelessness. Alpha Xi Deltas across the country support two Key Impact Organizations, FosterClub and StandUp for Kids, making a national and regional difference under the umbrella of our focus.

Letters of Love

All Alpha Xi Delta chapters and alumnae associations participate in Letters of Love, Alpha Xi Delta’s national letter writing fundraising campaign. Held annually during the month of November this campaign benefits Alpha Xi Delta’s two Key Impact Organizations, StandUp for Kids and FosterClub.

Our Chapter's Impact:

The Kindly Hearts Initiative is Alpha Xi Delta’s new philanthropic focus that was announced this past spring! Over 400,000 children are currently placed in foster care and every year an estimated 4.2 million youth experience homelessness. The need for support is real. Alpha Xi Delta believes that all children deserve love and support. Children and youth experiencing foster care or homelessness do not always have access to the foundational needs that will help them realize their potential. Alpha Xi Delta is dedicated to aiding organizations who provide access to these needs and support resources in our local communities and across the country. In these endeavors we are supporting Foster Club and Stand Up For Kids!

This year, Alpha Xi Delta at Wright State will be supporting and working with For Love of Children (FLOC) right here in Dayton! FLOC began servicing area children in 1980, and has grown into an industry of volunteers who are passionate about caring for children who are neglected and abused, children in foster care and children in need of community resource. Their administrative offices opened in the fall of 2011. Located at the Talbott Tower, we have over 4500 square feet of space in which to offer our services to the children in need in the greater Dayton area.
